There is a very exciting event happening near our Hermann Missouri bed and breakfast. On October 15 and 16 there will be The Artists of Wine Country Art Walks and Talks. This Special Free Self-Guided Walking Tour to art galleries, a museum, murals and a historic church in the historic district of Hermann will feature a few very brief "Art Talks" by Artists of Wine Country about their artwork.   There will also be special guests talking about some of the unique art treasures and architecture in Hermann. Some of you might remember the Studio Tours, this event is replacing that. The "Art Walks & Talks Guide" can be picked up at the Gasconade Country Historical Society Community Room at 315 Schiller Street. Most the studios are located in historic homes and storefronts which is interesting in itself.

This is a great opportunity to find unique gifts for the holidays and other special occasions that will be coming up. All of the artists have their own unique array of mediums such as metal, watercolor, oil, pastel, fiber, vitreous enamel and wood. There is so much to see and hear that you will want to take advantage of the two days  and make sure that you spend enough time talking to the artist himself. Our bed and breakfast in wine country Missouri still has a couple of openings. Come out and enjoy our local art.

Oktoberfest In Hermann MO, Hermann Hill Bed and Breakfast

 Oktoberfest in Hermann MO is held all four weekends in October and is a fall tradition for many of our guests at our Missouri bed and breakfast. The city of Hermann celebrates its Old World heritage with oom-pah bands, amazing fall colors and plenty of brats on the grill. Click here for all of the Oktoberfest events. To make it even more convenient the Hermann Trolley will be operating all month long.

During October weekends our bed and breakfast tends to fill up far in advance; however, there are usually some rooms available during the week on Sunday through Thursday. We hope you will consider visiting our bed and breakfast in wine country then. The wineries and museums are open and the fall colors are just as spectacular with less crowds.

BarBQ & Brats Festival, Hermann, MO

Amateur chefs, kid chefs and professional chefs get ready for the BarBQ and Brats Festival being held in Hermann, MO on September 23rd and 24th. This is a Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event. Everyone can compete at this festival, they even have a Kids Que division. There is $10,000 in cash and prizes,certified barbeque judges, wine and beer garden, live entertainment and a whole lot of "finger lickin' fun", the German version. Big Smith, Bluegrass Band, Hermann, MO

 The acclaimed bluegrass band Big Smith is coming to Hermann, MO bringing its raucous acoustic style which captures the spirit of their native Ozarks.

Comprised of 5 cousins and a fiddle player their authentic Ozark cultural sound is comprised of an acoustic guitar, mandolin, bass fiddle and a washboard and has deemed them"intellectually astute neo-hillbillies". They are all bound together through music.

The 2005 a documentary, Homemade Hillbilly Jam, profiled the band and the music of their extended family. Opening act of this  musical evening will be The River Rats known for their bluegrass.
